Wrap of Freedom Day Celebrations
In his inaugural speech on the 10th of May 1994 in Pretoria, as the first democratically elected president of a democratic South Africa. Nelson Mandela said: ‘Let freedom reign. Let there be justice for all. Let there be peace for all. Let there be work, bread, water and salt for all.’ But 31 years later South Africans, mostly the youth and young adults, are disillusioned with democracy and freedom.
