WSU shooting | Proceedings delayed in the bail hearing of the 54-year-old suspect
The bail hearing of the 54-year-old suspect, who allegedly shot and killed a student during an unrest at the Walter Sisulu University in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape, will be heard this afternoon. According to the Court Manager, this is after the arrival of the Chief Justice in the City.
The bail hearing was expected to resume at 11 o’clock.
Twenty-four-year-old Sisonke Mbolekwa was shot and killed while two other students were injured as they protested against poor living conditions at the university’s residences. This is the suspect’s third day of applying for bail.
